Learning objectives

  • Understand the importance of nasal endoscopy in managing patients with chronic rhinosinusitis, both with and without nasal polyps.
  • Identify the criteria for defining active disease in the nasal mucosa.
  • Recognize the potential for patients to achieve symptom remission and quality of life improvements without surgery or oral corticosteroids.

Description

Joaquim is invited to join a discussion, where he addresses questions about defining active disease in the nose using an endoscope. He explains that for ENT specialists and allergists, nasal endoscopies are essential for managing patients with chronic rhinosinusitis, whether or not they have nasal polyps. Active disease can be indicated by the presence of nasal polyps, but patients can still be in remission with controlled symptoms and quality of life, even if small polyps remain.
