Biography

Sharon Dell, MD, FRCPC, is a Professor of Pediatrics and Head of the Division of Respiratory Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. She has co-authored more than 200 publications, focusing on her key clinical interests of children's lung diseases including asthma, primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD), and interstitial lung disease (ILD). 

Dr. Dell is the principal investigator at British Columbia Children's Hospital for several multi-center clinical studies of childhood lung diseases. Early in her career, her main interest was identifying modifiable risk factors for childhood asthma. As her career progressed, she became interested in improving health outcomes for rare lung diseases in children, particularly PCD. At present, her research focuses primarily on diagnostic test development and performance, health-related quality-of-life measures, genotype-phenotype associations, and clinical trials.
