Peter Arkwright, MD, PhD, is a Senior Lecturer/Consultant in Paediatric Allergy and Immunology at the University of Manchester and Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital in the United Kingdom. He has worked for the University of Manchester and at RMCH as a pediatric allergist and immunologist for the last 25 years, helping establish the Department of Paediatric Allergy and Immunology and the North West Paediatric Allergy Network.
His research interests focus on translating and discovering new allergic and immune diseases and works as part of a multi-disciplinary team looking after children with severe atopic dermatitis, immunodeficiencies and complex allergies.
He conducts internationally recognized research, has discovered new immune disorders and treatments, and has published over 200 peer-reviewed articles, including in Nature, Science, Cell, Lancet and the New England Journal of Medicine. He has served as North West Representative to the Royal College (RCPCH) and on the Editorial Boards of top international allergy and immunology journals. He is also a member of multiple committees and professional bodies, including a fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and an International Fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology.
