Dr. Marta Ferrer, MD, PhD, is Dean of the University of Navarra School of Medicine in Pamplona, Spain, and Head of the Department of Allergy at the University Hospital. She obtained her Medical Degree at the University of Zaragoza, and her Doctorate at the University of Navarra. After her Doctorate and Allergy Residence, she worked as a Postdoctoral Associate at the Division of Allergy at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, NY, and subsequently as a Research Associate at the Division of Allergy at the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, USA.
Dr. Ferrer dedicates her work and research to studying the physiopathology of chronic urticaria and implementing innovation in medical education, receiving several grants from the National Health Spanish Department. Dr. Ferrer is the recipient of a research grant project from the National Ministry of Research, Development and Innovation for a clinical trial investigating nanoparticles for oral peanut immunotherapy, and a national research grant characterizing the phenotype and genotype of histaminergic angioedema. She also coordinates a research network and a biologicals database for allergic diseases.
Dr. Ferrer is a member of the Spanish Allergy Society Skin Committee, a member of the EAACI and the AAAAI Dermatology sections, and a Harvard Macy scholar from Harvard Medical School.
