Biography

Jorge F. Maspero, MD, FCCP, FAAAAI, is the clinical research director for allergy, immunology, and respiratory medicine at the Fundación Cidea in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is also head of the Pediatric Allergy Unit at Buenos Aires Deutsches Hospital, and training program director of allergy and clinical immunology at Buenos Aires University, where he is also an Assistant Professor of Medicine.  
 
Dr. Maspero earned his medical degree from Buenos Aires University and subsequently completed fellowships in pediatrics and in adult and pediatric allergy and immunology. His research interests include pediatric and adult asthma and allergic rhinitis, immunotherapy, inflammatory responses and markers, and steroids and other pharmacologic agents, such as biologics. He has published more than 300 abstracts and papers in domestic and international journals.  
 
Dr. Maspero is a Fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, and an active member of the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA), the World Allergy Organization, the American Thoracic Society, the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, the European Respiratory Society, and the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. Dr. Maspero is a former president of the Argentine Association for Allergy and Clinical Immunology and former scientific director at the Latin American Allergy Society.
