Jerry Ellen Schonfeld

Ellen Schonfeld is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner who received her Master's degree at UCLA in 1995 and has practiced in the Orange County CA area for 30 years.  She began her career in an Allergy and Asthma practice and joined the GI team at CHOC 18 years ago.  When she was in the field of Allergy, she performed the role of associate investigator, conducting clinical trials as well as managing the care of children and adults with atopic conditions.  She is a published author in the field of Allergy having written on the subject of non allergic rhinitis and anaphylaxis.  

Due to her Allergy background, Ellen was chosen from her GI team at CHOC to spearhead the multidisciplinary clinic for EoE treatment in 2009.  Ellen has a great interest in EoE and has seen many changes in treatment strategies over the years.  To date, she has seen more than 950 children with EoE.
