Christoph Schlag

Christoph Schlag, MD, PhD, is Head of Endoscopy at the University Hospital of Zürich in Zürich, Switzerland, where he is also a senior attending physician specializing in eosinophilic esophagitis and in diagnostic and interventional endoscopy in the hospital’s Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. His research interests have been focused on eosinophilic esophagitis and on the use of diagnostic and interventional endoscopic techniques in the diagnosis and management of various gastrointestinal conditions. He has helped implement investigator-initiated studies, as well as national and international translational research collaborations, and has participated in many national and international multicenter studies. 

Prof. Schlag is a member of the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the European Society of Eosinophilic Oesophagitis, where he is a member of the Steering Committee. Other memberships include the German Society for Digestive and Metabolic Diseases, for which he has previously served as a member of the Guideline Commission for Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease and Eosinophilic Esophagitis, and currently serves as an advisory board member for the Endoscopy Section. He is the author or co-author of more than 140 publications.
