Alain Taïeb, MD, is Professor Emeritus of Dermatology at Bordeaux University. He set up the European Task Force on Atopic Dermatitis in 1990 and the Vitiligo European Task Force in 2003. He is also the President of the International Society of Atopic Dermatitis. His main interests lie in pediatric dermatology, genodermatoses, atopic dermatitis, pigmentation disorders/vitiligo, and trichology.
He is the author of 700 articles in peer-reviewed journals and more than 60 book chapters. He has also co-authored and published the ‘History of Atopic Dermatitis’ and two textbooks on neonatal dermatology and vitiligo. He is also a former editorial board member of the British Journal of Dermatology, Melanoma Research, Pigment Cell and Melanoma Research and Experimental Dermatology. He has received numerous awards and distinctions from the Society for Pediatric Dermatology, the European Society for Pediatric Dermatology, the International League of Dermatological Societies, the American Skin Association, and the European Society for Pigment Cell Research.
