A graduate of Cornell University with honors and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine with distinction, Dr. Dickstein is currently an Academic Dean and Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine. A passionate medical educator, he supervises multiple teaching programs for residents, fellows, medical students, physician assistant students, nurse practitioner students, gap year medical assistants, and student observerships across 6 major university affiliations. An advocate for independent practice, he has served as Chief of Staff at two community teaching hospitals in Massachusetts, and co-founded the Massachusetts Gastroenterology Association, the Massachusetts Independent Physician Practice Association, the Special Committee on the Sustainability of Private Practice at the Massachusetts Medical Society, and the American Independent Medical Practice Association. At the American Gastroenterological Association, he serves on the Quality Committee and as a mentor in the Future Leaders program. A frequent course director, invited lecturer, and consultant to industry, Dr. Dickstein is currently Sr. Vice President for Clinical Affairs at Gastro Health.
