Biography

Dr. Elena Netchiporouk completed her medical degree at Université de Montréal, followed by a dermatology residency and a master’s in experimental medicine at McGill University. After a year in community practice, she joined the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) in 2018 as Assistant Professor and Director of Undergraduate Medical Education in Dermatology. 

Her clinical focus includes complex medical dermatology, orphan diseases, and immune-mediated skin conditions. She co-directs several specialized clinics—including urticaria/mastocytosis, oncogenodermatology, and skin fibrosis—where she also teaches and mentors trainees. 

Appointed a clinician investigator at the MUHC Research Institute in 2020, Dr. Netchiporouk dedicates 50% of her time to research on the pathogenesis and risk factors of immune-mediated skin diseases and genodermatoses. She also continues to practice weekly in underserved communities in Quebec. 

 Dr. Netchiporouk has published over 145 peer-reviewed articles, including in JAAD, JAMA Dermatology, and The Lancet, with an H-index of 28. She is an associate editor for JCMS and serves as Regional Director for Quebec on the CDA Board. In this role, she champions advocacy, junior mentorship, EDI, and the revival of Quebec’s CDA journal clubs.
