Biography

Antonella Muraro, MD, PhD, is a Consultant Paediatric Allergist and a full-time academic staff member. She has been working for 20 years at the Allergy Unit of the Department of Pediatrics of the University of Padua, specializing in pediatric food allergy, rhinitis and sinusitis as well as in the prevention of allergic diseases in childhood. Her research interests include the identification of novel markers in allergy and the evaluation of biologicals in the immunotherapy of allergic diseases. 

A member of several professional bodies, she is a member of the board of the Section on Pediatrics of the European Academy of Allergology and Clinical Immunology and the scientific secretary of the EAACI – Section on Pediatrics Board, serving as chair between 2007 and 2009. She is also a member of the Italian Society of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology and the American College of Allergy, the Italian Society of Pediatrics, and the Italian Society for Pediatric Respiratory Diseases. She is the author of many publications on food allergy and atopic dermatitis in both Italian and International journals.
