Kathleen M Buchheit, MD, is the assistant program director of the Allergy and Immunology Fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, and an assistant professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, also in Boston.
Dedicated to understanding the causative mechanisms of and treatments for aspirin-exacerbated respiratory disease and nasal polyps, Dr. Buchheit is the principal investigator of a National Institutes of Health–funded study investigating the role of B cells and plasma cells in the pathogenesis of these diseases. She has published over 80 research papers in journals such as Allergy and Asthma Proceedings, The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, and Allergy, and she is a past recipient of the Boston magazine Top Doctor award and the Castle Connolly America’s Top Doctor award.
