Walter Liszewski
Associate Professor of Dermatology and Cancer Epidemiology at Northwestern University, with over six years of experience as a general dermatologist and specialist in patch testing.
Biography
Walter Liszewski's clinical work centers on diagnosing allergic reactions to personal care products and occupational exposures. These include sensitivities to substances such as hair dye, cosmetics, shampoos, gloves, medications, jewelry, metal implants, tattoos, medical devices, and industrial chemicals. He frequently consult on cases involving occupational medicine and disability related to chemical allergies and toxicity. In addition to his focus on allergies, he also treats a wide range of dermatologic conditions including skin cancer, melanoma, hair loss, acne, rosacea, warts, hidradenitis suppurativa, psoriasis, and eczema. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for both the American Contact Dermatitis Society and the European Society of Tattoo and Pigment Research. He has acted as a site Principal Investigator for multiple dermatology clinical trials.
His research explores the epidemiology and impact of toxic and allergenic chemicals, as well as the incidence and causes of adverse drug reactions. He has authored more than 80 peer-reviewed publications to date. In addition, he has provided expert testimony and authored reports in legal cases involving occupational exposures, allergies, and dermatologic conditions.
